Cable Car Tours

The Campanile (Sather Tower)

Take the elevator to the top of Berkeley's landmark bell tower for a breathtaking panoramic view.
Note: There are 38 stairs from the elevator landing to the observation deck; the deck is not wheelchair accessible.

Student guides take you on a one-hour tour. Learn about Berkeley's traditions, student life, history and architecture. Tours begin every half-hour starting at 10 am. Meet at the blue Tour Tent on Dwinelle Plaza (near the Information Center).

A one-hour Mandarin language tour will be offered by a student guide. Meet at the blue Tour Tent on Dwinelle Plaza (near the Information Center) at noon.

The Berkeley Recreational Sports Experience

Natural Landscape Campus Tour

Learn more about UC Berkeley's natural landscape with a tour of campus trees. The Forestry Club leads this guided one-hour tour. To take the tour on your own, the College of Natural Resources offers a smartphone audio tour (see instructions for downloading at http://goo.gl/CNYQzf).
Berkeley Arts + Design Tour
9 am-5 pm | Jacobs Institute for Design Innovation, 2530 Ridge Road
Join the Arts + Design Initiative on a self-guided tour of UC Berkeley's diverse arts and design landscape. Tour hosted on Instagram and on location. Participants can join a scavenger hunt and enter a drawing to win exciting prizes. On the tour, you'll learn about campus spaces that nurture the arts, expose students to new ideas, and present groundbreaking work to the public.
10 am-4 pm
Thirty-minute tours of the residence halls depart from the locations below. Tours include an orientation and guided walk-through of student rooms, unit dining areas (where applicable), academic centers and other amenities. Last tour leaves at 3:30 p.m.
**Please note: All residence hall tours include stairs. If you are in need of an accessible route, contact staff when you arrive at each unit.

Self-guided tours of UC Berkeley’s main libraries, which hold 52 miles of shelves. From 10 am-12 pm, take a self-guided tour of Moffitt Library's newly renovated fourth and fifth floors, and see demonstrations of 3D printing, virtual reality and other design technologies available in the new makerspace.
Earth Science & Map Library
